Man ID'd After Fatal Strike Crossing Central PA Street: Coroner

The man who died after being struck by a vehicle while crossing the street on Friday afternoon, Oct. 11, has been identified by the York County Coroner's Office late on Sunday night, Oct. 13.

Eric Legore, 51, of the 9600 block of Orchard Road in Jackson Township, was hit at 191 South Water Street near West Church Street, Spring Grove Borough at 2:21 p.m., according to the York County coroner’s office. The area has a crosswalk, as seen on Google Maps Street View. 

A coroner was called to the scene at 2:53 p.m. Deputy Coroner Onalee Gilbert responded to the scene to investigate and certify the death. Legore was pronounced dead at 4:25 p.m.

The cause and manner of death are pending the results of an autopsy, the coroner’s office said.

York County Regional Police is the investing agency.

The next of kin have been notified.
